Press release from Darien Police Department: 8/27/2021 Date:                     August 27, 2021 Re:                         Back to School Traffic Advisory Issued by:            Captain Jeremiah P. Marron Jr. The 2021-2022 academic school year for students attending Darien Public Schools begins Monday August 30, 2021.  With that we are anticipating extensive traffic delays in the areas of all of our schools due to families dropping off and picking up their children.  As we experienced this past school year, roadways leading up to and around our schools simply cannot accommodate the volume of vehicles arriving to these locations without significant backups.    For the foreseeable future, major traffic delays should be expected around Darien schools before and after the below posted "Opening" and "Dismissal" times.  Motorists not having business at a particular school are strongly encouraged to avoid these areas and seek an alternate route during these time frames.  Thank you for your patience and please drive carefully.    SCHOOL OPENING DISMISSAL DHS 7:40 am 2:17 pm MMS 7:55 am 2:22 pm Hindley 8:25 am 2:55 pm Holmes 9:00 am 3:30 pm Ox Ridge 9:00 am 3:30 pm Royle 8:25 am 2:55 pm Tokenenke 8:25 am 2:55 pm   This press release was produced by Darien Police Department.
