Description
Urgent wildlife rehabilitation needed for abandoned baby squirrel. I found an abandoned baby squirrel earlier today (or rather my cat did) beneath a tree in my yard. I thought it was dead but when I nudged it gently with my foot it squirmed a bit. I brought my cat inside before he could hurt it and left it outside until it got dark to see if it's mother would retrieve it. When dusk came and the baby squirrel was still outside where I left it I decided to bring it inside and clean it up. It was covered in flies and fly eggs and I removed most of them with some dawn soap and warm water. I attempted to feed it some water with a qtip (I didn't have a dropper or syringe on hand) but it wasn't too keen on drinking. For now it's snuggled up in a box on top of a heat pad for the night. I'm not sure it'll survive until morning but if it does I'd really appreciate it if someone could come pick it up and either take it to a rehabilitation center or attempt to rehab it themselves. I'm a full time college student so I sadly don't have the time or knowledge necessary to help the little guy. I have a full day of classes tomorrow and won't get home until around 7:30pm but my boyfriend will be around all day if someone could come pick the squirrel up. Please email for the address and let me know what time you'd be available to pick it up.
