FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort Children's Museum was recently given some financial relief to the tune of $100,000 via a Small Venue Operators Grant handed out by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The SBA is responsible for doling out more than $16.2 billion as part of the American Rescue Plan Act passed in March. So far, the SBA has awarded more than $8.4 billion in grants, according to the SBA website.
Frankfort Children' Museum's grant can be used to pay for a number of things, according to SBA's website, including:
Payroll costs.Rent payments.Utility payments.Scheduled mortgage payments.Scheduled debt payments.Worker protection expendituresPayments to independent contractors.Other ordinary and necessary business expenses, including maintenance costs.Administrative costs.State and local taxes and fees.Operating leases in effect as of Feb. 15, 2020Insurance payments.Advertising, production transportation, and capital expenditures related to producing a theatrical or live performing arts production.Of the $16.2 billion total that was made available, at least $2 billion was reserved for eligible Small Venue Operators Grant applications for businesses that have up to 50 full-time employees. Eligible applicants could qualify for up to 45 percent of the business' gross earned revenue, with a maximum amount of $10 million for a single grant.
