Press release from the Bishop State Community College: August 28, 2021 (MOBILE, Ala., August 28, 2021 @ 5 p.m.) - Bishop State Community College is closely monitoring Hurricane Ida. The storm is targeting the Louisiana Coast for a landfall Sunday afternoon or evening as a major hurricane. Even though our area will be well east of the center of the storm, local news outlets report storm surge on Sunday and Monday could be 2 to 4 feet for Mobile and Baldwin Counties​ ​and we could see winds sustained at 30 to 40 mph later Sunday and into Monday. The college's first priority​ is the​ ​safety of all Bishop State students, faculty, and staff. As a safety precaution, all on-campus and online classes will not meet in person or remotely on Monday, August 30, 2021. At this time, there are no other changes to the regular College schedule beyond Monday. Additional information will be provided to the College community as it becomes available. All students and employees should monitor their email accounts for updates.
