Liberal/Progressive/Socialist Democrats keep pushing for a Huge Government, that controls virtually everything in our lives. I guess the reason is, some people don't want to have to think or fend for themselves, they'd rather kick back and let 'government' handle it. Unfortunately, these people vote. In a Capitalist Society like America, where people have freedom of choice and freedom to pursue their happiness, we cannot all be "Equal". You can't make everyone equally rich in a free enterprise society, because some people are just luckier, smarter, or whatever. HOWEVER, you CAN make everyone equally POOR, if they are ruled over by a huge oppressive government. It just so happens that poor and unarmed people are much easier for a big oppressive government to control. Humans, and by extension Governments, normally take the path of least resistance. Therefore making the People poor and disarming them, is the easiest and quickest way for a government to maintain control. Korea is a prime example of what socialism/communism does to THE CITIZENS. Lights out No food Zero opportunity to succeed Criticism of the government equals death. Here's a little factoid for you: Back in the early '50's, Korea was split in two by America and Russia Communism took over North Korea, American-style capitalism, freedom and opportunity was installed in South Korea. NOW, almost 70 years later, North Korean citizens are 2 inches SHORTER than their South Korea counterparts. This is what you get when an oppressive government literally starves the citizens to death. Kim Jong Un thinks spending Billions$$ on failed rockets is more important than feeding his own people. That's how dictatorships will do ya.
