re Socialism / Communism (have the same goals) "You are making a common mistaker that many people make..... America IS a socialism. It always has been." You're a little off: America is a Capitalistic, Free Market, Free Enterprise, Hybrid Democratic/Constitutional Republic, that employs "some" social programs The social programs would NOT survive, if it weren't for the MONEY that Capitalism brings in. Remember: Pure Socialism only works until you run out of other people's money. After they run out of money, it gets REAL hard on the Citizens, because you know the Government isn't going to cut back on spending. Pure Socialism also allows for Government to step in and take over private businesses, (as if government can run anything efficiently) TRUE STORY: I have a buddy that lived in Cuba as a small child and his Dad owned a construction business. Fidel Castro came in and TOOK his Dad's business and then offered him a job if he wanted to stay as an employee. His Dad packed up the family and fled to Florida, got citizenship and started up another construction business and they've been happy ever since
