Description
This week, the Labor Department announced that the number of job openings in the U.S. topped 10 million - the highest on record. But the unemployment rate is still over 5%. The Labor Participation Rate has fallen to 61.7%, What is that unemployed 38.3% doing? Granted some will never be employable and will need support due to disability, but that is less than 3% of the population. What is that other 35% doing?
With all these jobs available, why are politicians still pushing to extend the rent moratorium and expanded unemployment benefits?
