Lost my I.D. where can I get a room

I'm traveling across country. Its a long story but the stort is that I'm on an old fashioned find yourself kind of trip. Ironically I've lost my I.D. on this find myself trip. Where can I get a room for a day or two with out an I.D.? I hope someone can tell me cause I don't know what to do till I get another one and I'm not ready to end my trip
