With the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries in the 1970s and 80s, many orphans returned to Japan, including Lihua, the adopted daughter of Grandma Chen. As she hasn't received a reply from Lihua for a long time, Grandma Chen can't help but miss her. She goes to Nara to find her. In a foreign country, she meets many war orphans. Their lives reveal another side of war trauma. Owing to cultural differences and conflicts, her journey of tracing Lihua gets complicated.
