Description

Jane Addams Hull-House Museum is re-opening to the public! Our Museum staff welcomes guests to register for limited capacity self-guided visits. Guests are required to reserve their desired number of tickets (not to exceed 5 per party) for their 1-hour time slot in advance of their visit. A maximum of 20 visitors are allowed in the Museum at any time per the fire marshals current occupancy limit with COVID-19 restrictions. Children under 2 are exempt from ticketing requirements. Guests are required to wear a mask at all time during their visit. As per University of Illinois at Chicago guidelines, scarves, bandanas, and gaiters are not to be worn in the Museum as a mask. Anyone without a mask will be provided one by JAHHM staff upon entry. If a guest must be reminded more than once to wear their mask while on-site, the guest will be asked to leave the Museum. A minimum of 6 ft. of distance between parties must be kept at all times throughout their visit to the museum. Signage will also be posted for entry/exit through specific doors to help regulate the flow of traffic, in keeping with this distancing rule. These rules are in place in order for our visitors to enjoy and explore the Museum in a safe and welcoming environment. We look forward to your visit! Jane Addams Hull-House Museum (JAHHM) draws upon the legacy of international peace activist and feminist, Jane Addams, and other social reformers who worked, alongside their immigrant neighbors, to create social change on the Near West Side of Chicago during the Progressive Era. The Museum preserves and develops the original Hull-House site for the interpretation and continuation of the historic settlement house vision. Exhibitions and public programs elevate histories of activism, progressive education and democratic principles of participation and exchange, and connect them to present-day social justice issues.
