Join us as we celebrate African Heritage Month with a parade & festival in Harlem New York. We would like to invite you to participate in our parade and festival in Harlem this year. For many years, African leaders have advocated for a month for African immigrants to celebrate their heritage. Finally, with the strong advocacy of Chairman Mory Kouyate and his team, We successfully established African heritage month in the Bronx, NY, in 2018 and Bridgeport, CT, in 2019. The mayor of Bridgeport CT and the Bronx Borough President have all signed proclamations proclaiming September as African heritage. We aim to have this month recognized nationally. However, we must do what we can to mark this month with a cultural celebration now before this happens. African Heritage Month Parade is an annual free cultural event that will recognize our Community leaders, Business leaders, and community-based journalists. Moreover, we will promote the arts and culture of the African immigrant community in New York and Connecticut. Furthermore, to encourage unity among all people of different races, creeds, and ethnicity. This year, African Heritage Month Parade and Festival will take place on Saturday, September 25th, 2021. The Parade will start at 12 pm , the festival will start Time: 5 pm -9 pm. Location: The Adam Clayton Powell Jr.State Building at 163 West 125th street at the corner of Adam Clayton Powell Jr.Boulevard in Harlem .Our COVID-19 contingency plan is to carry out the event via zoom and have all our performances there. This event is being supported by over thirty community based organizations.
