Parenting for Liberation and Nicole D. Vick, the Style Vicksen, are hosting an amazing self care event focused on nail care. Audre Lorde said "caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self preservation, and that is an act of political warfare." For many women, self care is a spa day, a girls' night out, or a luxury staycation. For Black women, self-care it's much more than a "selfish" moment away and can be an important lifeline in a society that places high value on being "busy". Join Nicole D. Vick style and fashion maven and nail polish fanatic, and Executive Director of P4L Trina Green Brown, for an evening of self-care, sisterhood, and relaxation! We will explore the basics of nail care, nail art, meditation, and affirmations. This is a hands on event where you will learn by doing!
