Would love to blame it on the pandemic, this solitude that is my life, but in truth I’ve been isolated for ages. Lately that’s been taking a toll, and I find myself missing having a connection, missing knowing someone and being known. And yes, missing the touch of another. I am alone again tonight. I will be alone again tomorrow night. Mostly that’s okay. But in this moment? In this moment the emptiness devours me.
