An evening of riveting new short films and party with Spotlight Filmmakers' Showcase @ DWFLA Join us to screen a slate of fantastic short films with Asian culture and elements. They visually stunning as well heartwarming. These films are world premiering at this showcase to the public by talented upcoming filmmakers. An open house mixer party will be held for the HTTV studio after the show. 52Hz - A stand-up comedian takes up a day job as a Chinese school teacher in Los Angeles and connects with a troubled student who feels like she doesn't fit in with the world around her. Jia & Chuan - A daughter brings herself closer to her mother with a series of life questions. Fine China - Fine China is a musical that follows a quiet dinner that quickly becomes the epicenter of resounding, songful expression that seeks to break shared familial grief. Magician: Game of Detective - The film tells the story of Zhang Cheng, a talented Chinese magician who is skilled in Sichuan Face-Changing, is accidentally discovered by the FBI during his collage studying period in the USA. He uses his Face-Changing skills and Ancient Chinese tricks to help FBI catching the most notorious Japanese burglar -- "Octopus", who is proficient in transfiguration and cross-dressing skills with high-tech. A cat-and-mouse game of "Face Changing VS. Face Changing" is on the stage in Las Vegas... The Girl and The Serpent - A sacrificial girl fights back against the serpent demon and saves mankind.
