Description
Buster is a 2-year-old Italian Greyhound x Chihuahua mix who weighs approximately 7.6 lbs. He was a stray from the shelter who unfortunately suffered an attack or beating of some sort. He’s healthy and happy now, ready to find his forever home! While Buster may look like a small, fragile pup, this little guy is more than he looks! He loves to hike and will play with dogs bigger than him, holding his own. He's a great mix of playful energy, chill, and snuggle! Don't miss out on this sweet little guy! Buster can sleep for hours on the couch during the day and loves to snuggle under the covers at night if you let him in the bed. He is happy to be close to you. He will also have moments where he's bursting with energy and will want to play, chew on things, or run around in the yard. Buster is looking for a calm, confident person to make him feel secure in the world, as he can bark at people and dogs on leash. When Buster first arrived in his foster home, he was a bit uncertain for the first 30 minutes but then made himself comfortable in his foster’s lap for the rest of the ride back. He warmed up pretty quickly and was friendly to other people he met that day. Buster is a huge snuggler and loves to sleep next to you. He will also follow you from room to room. Once Buster warms up to you and is feeling playful, he will jump up and lean his paws on your legs and get as close to you as possible. A normal day for Buster consists of waking up around 9 am and then going out to the yard. He’s fed around 9 am as well but tends to not go for his food right away and instead will eat when he feels like it throughout the day. Buster spends most of his morning napping and is ready to play and run around once the afternoon hits. That's when he'll come to you for some attention or scratch the door to go outside in the yard. He likes to chew on his toys and bones during the day to keep himself occupied. He usually gets a walk after work around 6:30 pm and dinner around 8 pm. He is let out in the yard one last time before bedtime. Buster is housetrained and has not had any accidents in the foster home. Buster is not yet crate-trained. He loves to chew apart and take the stuffing out of any stuffed toys so he needs to be supervised with this kind of toy or given more durable ones. Buster is a very vocal dog, so his forever family should be okay with this or confident in training him not to bark. He barks at strange or loud noises - especially at night. Buster is only an option for homes that have had a dog of their own as an adult. If there are any children in the home they need to be over the age of eight.
