Good Saturday morning Connecticut, We finally made it to the weekend! Today will be mostly cloudy and there is a 30 percent chance for a rain shower and a thunderstorm this afternoon. On Sunday it's mostly cloudy with temperatures near 80 degrees. It looks dry for Sunday, just not much sun. But at least it's the weekend, right? Here are 10 news stories currently trending across the state: 1. COVID-19 update: The infection rate was 3.44 percent on Friday. There were 788 new cases reported out of 22,892 tests. Sacred Heart University is warning students to take safety precautions after a 21-year-old woman was attacked, police said. (Read More here.) 3. A 19-year-old woman was shot Saturday morning in CT. Police are investigating. (Read More at WTNH News 8.) 4. Firefighters came to the dramatic rescue of a dog trapped on a steep cliff Friday. The dog, named Winfield after former New York Yankees player Dave Winfield, had been missing at least 10 hours. (Read More here.) 5.
