Its time for Hank to venture out to his forever home. Male Desert Tortoise has been within my foster for 4 months after being found almost dead floating hopelessly in a golf course pond. Since he had been rescued he has had the best of the best care. Proper nutritional diet, fresh everyday. A living habitat that includes live indigenous plant life for walk by grazing and shelter and a Fresh water source. Oh and of course safety from weather elements of all kinds. Having been aided by humans in his time of recovery, this unfortunately excludes him from being a candidate for wild release, plus we know nothing about his life before finding him in the lake. And once a Tortoise has been made a pet survival in nature is very slim to say the least. Please Adopt Hank !!! If you have a nice yard that can be escape proof (and the tortoise is a master of that for sure) and you will always have his best interest in your ❤. Things to know.....He will get very large over a very long life span. He needs to hibernate in the winter months even in AZ. He eats a special diet with lettuce not being a part of that along with quite a few other foods. He enjoys going for walks and believe it or not he enjoys your company as well as dogs and cats and rabbits and............Thanks for reading Hanks post and text if he could fit in your family 👪 .
