Our cat needs a new home

Her name is Cortana but I’m sure she could adjust to a new name. I don’t know exactly how old she is because she was fully grown when we rescued her from the shelter. And I don’t know what she went through before, but she is pretty skittish even now. She is very sweet and sometimes affectionate, but not very social. We have had her for a while and she still spends a significant amount of time hidden away in private little spots around the house. She mostly comes out in the evenings or mornings, and will lie on the back of the couch or sometimes even on your lap. She often likes sitting on my lap actually, but she hates to be held. She will only endure that for a couple of minutes and then she will definitely pull away. She loves pats and head scratches and will love on you. I think she just doesn’t like to be confined so if you try to hug her she will bail. She needs a new home now. This one is just not a good fit for her now. We recently moved and she did not like it! She hid for the first week or two, barely coming out to eat. But then she adjusted and has been fine since. I expect she would not enjoy being rehomed, but she would eventually adjust. I will include a couple of litter boxes (one covered), food and water bowls, and some food and treats. I also have a small carrier that you can have. We want to find her a good home that she will be happy in. Just let me know if you have any questions.
