Position Summary: Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk will assist with all shipping procedures while providing excellent customer service. In this clerical position, you will be responsible for ensuring that the paperwork for all shipments leaving the distribution center is complete and accurate. You will check drivers in and out throughout day, handle bills of lading (BOL’s), and utilize various systems and frequently interact with warehouse personnel and carriers. Work Schedule: Thursday, Friday and Saturday Hours: 3:00PM - 3:00AM Pay: $18.50/HR + $1.00 Shift Differential Major Responsibilities: -Processing Outbound shipments in the warehouse -Communicate with vendors to set outbound appointments -Control the flow of work to meet departure times -Data entry and running reports -Resolve discrepancies -Interact with warehouse associates and trouble shoot issues -Assist with daily and weekly reports -Jointly work with Supervisors and Management to meet warehouse metrics -Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements -Other projects and tasks assigned by Supervisor   Qualifications: • 2 years of general office experience required • 1 year of customer service experience required • High School diploma or equivalent required • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required • AS400 experience preferred • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job • Willingness to work in a cold /temperature controlled environment • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.   Physical Requirements: -The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
