Description
An interactive workshop exploring how we can heal our planet by healing our relationships with each other. There is no out there. No environment. And no justice separate from our embodied existence as beings who reflect the world around us. In this in person, interactive embodiment based workshop, relational ecologist Maria Tolero and Asia Dorsey facilitate a process of unearthing new frameworks for healing our planet through healing who and how we be with each other. Facilitated by Asia Dorsey and Maria Tolero. Asia writes Afrofutures into existence by reweaving Black bodies into relationship with the earth. Ear to the soil, she heeds the instruction of mineral, microbial, and botanical beings. She uses her gift of pattern recognition as a bioregional herbalist with the Ancestral Herbalism Healing Collective, a permaculture instructor with the Denver Permaculture Guild, and a developer of vibrant organizations that perpetuate cultures of reciprocity as an organizational consultant with Regenerate Change. As a strategist and a board member for the Center for Community Wealth Building, Asia heals our economy through cooperative ownership. Asia, the Empress of Play, creates literary beauty and centers Black joy, wellness and imagination as a black arts curator and cofounder of the Palm Wine Collective. Asia is a stand that home is in our bodies and perpetuates the frequency of embodied empowerment as Co-Owner of the Satya Yoga Cooperative for POC. Asia facilitates healing. She brings forth ancestral knowledge. You can find her managing educational programs at the Seeds of Power Unity Farm swimming bone-deep in soil, bending botanical chaos long enough for her people to rise together in power and step into the wholeness that is their birthright. Join in and support her creations on Patreon and Instagram. Maria is a native Colombian educator and facilitator with 20 years experience in designing transformative social learning environments. She believes that we jump-start more effective engagement on collective action issues by deeply braiding psychological safety into new tools and patterns for organizations, workplaces and communities. She brings high-fidelity attunement to the nuances of complex communication and is an expert at catalyzing the social-emotional landscape of groups into higher levels of interpersonal connectedness, play intelligence and group flow. She partners with nonprofits, faith communities, and educational and grassroots organizations in Colorado. She is a 2014 NAAEE Community Climate Change Fellow through the EPA-sponsored EECapacity program and the 2017 recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award from the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education. All attendees must be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means at least two weeks since your second shot.
