Description
Manchester's 375th Celebration - "High Tea" at Sharksmouth (*modified to meet BOH Covid requirements) Looking for an occasion to eat scones and wear your Fascinator while listening to harp music amidst an exquisite setting? If so, the “Hybrid Tea” at the Sharksmouth Estate on Wednesday, September 22, is the place to be. There will be 2 seatings of 60 people each time at 12:00 & then again at 2:00. Hosted by the Manchester Historical Museum and the Sharksmouth Estate, the Hybrid Tea is part of the Manchester-by-the-Sea 375th Celebration. To keep in line with the latest Board of Health Covid requirements, we need to serve our originally planned luncheon menu from Timothy Hopkins Catering in individual boxes and change to individually bottled ice teas instead of serving hot tea. On the menu are: Chicken and Caramelized Onion Salad on Mini Croissants, Cucumber and Boursin Sandwiches, Mini Scones, Fruit Tartlettes and Sables (shortbreads). In addition, you will go home with a small gift as a memento of the event. So sorry, we are as disappointed as you over this, but we want to keep everyone safe. This is a rain or shine event. If the weather is poor, you can choose to just view the grounds and take your lunch box and tea for later. Seniors Citizens can also contact the COA at 978-526-7500 for COA Bus Transportation to Sharksmouth. Additional information can be obtained by calling the Manchester Historical Museum at 978-526-7230 or emailing [email protected]. The Manchester Historical Museum was founded in 1886 as the Manchester Historical Society “to serve the entire community through the preservation of irreplaceable town records and artifacts, its research capability and commitment to education.” The society moved in 1925 into its headquarters, the Trask House which is included in the National Register of Historic Places. In 2014, the organization changed its name to Manchester Historical Museum and adopted a new logo to reflect our mission to share our treasures and operate more as a museum instead of just an historical society. Our mission is: To encourage, maintain and foster an interest in historical matters pertaining to the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, and To establish and maintain within the town a library and museum to collect and preserve objects which illustrate the history of the town.
