Description

Women Who Whiskey--LBC is pleased as punch to bring you a cocktail making class hosted by R6 Distillery and led by Meredith Hayman R6 is a family-owned distillery located in El Segundo. In addition to putting out some award-winning whiskies, they've got a swanky speakeasy with a high-class cocktail program. In this class, cocktail director Meredith Hayman will lead you through a tasting of R6's lineup and then introduce you to the fundamentals of crafting a kickass Old Fashioned cocktail, with a sample. Then it's your turn to concoct your own custom creation! If that weren't enough, you'll also be going home with a recipe book filled with even more cocktail ideas guaranteed to slay! Light bites will also be provided. This is a private, in-person event, just for Women Who Whiskey-LBC, before the distillery opens. Capacity will be limited to 20 people and we will be outdoors on their patio. Participants are welcome to stay after class and enjoy the Tap Room and enjoy a Saturday afternoon with new friends! And it would be so cool of you if you were vaccinated. We're not going to be a hardass about it, but it really does make everyone safer. (And don't forget that second shot and your face mask to wear when you get up from the table!) It all goes down on Saturday, September 25th from 1-2:30 pm. R6 is located at 909 E El Segundo Blvd. in El Segundo. Tickets are $47 per person + Eventbrite service fees. Everyone must be 21+ to attend/participate. Women Who Whiskey-LBC was launched in October 2019 and is the third California chapter of Women Who Whiskey, an international whiskey appreciation club that Julia Ritz Toffoli started in New York in 2012. There are now a total of 25 wWw chapters world-wide. With over 40-percent of whiskey-drinkers now being women, it was time for women to have a space to become more educated and confident consumers. Women Who Whiskey became exactly that, creating a space for education where women can ask questions in a non-intimidating environment and explore spirits on her terms. We hope that you will join us at one of our upcoming events and explore whiskey along with us! Please note that all are welcome, regardless of gender (because it’s Long Beach, and we are very chill).
