Position Summary: The Glue Mixer is responsible for mixing raw material to create glue adhesive. At the direction of the supervisor, the Glue Mixer will mix materials with precise measures, transfer glue to tanks as needed, maintain equipment cleanliness, and other duties as assigned. • Follow preset mix instructions to create glue adhesive; follow corrective action instructions if variation discrepancies. • Record every mix made and submit form at the end of the shift. • Measure viscosity of every mix before mix is sent to day tank. • Adjust necessary valves to allow glue flow to spreader machines. • Remove glue adhesive from the spreader as needed. • Steam and pressure wash spreader machines at end of use. • Clean glue lines with recycled water. • Submit forms recording glue line cleaning, batch sheet, and inventory. • Operate forklift; unload raw material from truck to warehouse. Submit a daily forklift checklist for maintenance upkeep • First in first out (FIFO) method; rotate rows to ensure old inventory is used first. • Consolidate material to utilize all available space. • Report any issues with product; wet, short, damage, bad lot ID number, etc. • Report low inventory; help with monthly inventory. • Recycle bands, metal, plastic, cardboard, and waste. • Ability to read and understand cleaning and safety guidelines. • Ability to learn mechanics of mixer machine, spreader machine, glue lines, and valves to ensure that product specifications are set prior to operation. • Ability to successfully train to read the viscometers, PH meter, digital weight scales, and make accurate adjustments. • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Must be able and willing to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
