Horsford's is excited to partner with Audubon Vermont on an outdoor outing for beginner to advanced birders and gardeners! Everyone is welcome. Please wear a mask. Native plants provide food and shelter for birds and wildlife. To survive, birds need native plants and the insects that have co-evolved with them. Bird-friendly landscaping provides food, saves water, and fights climate change. Join Gwendolyn Causer of Audubon Vermont for a workshop about why native plants matter: What are the threats? What are the solutions? We’ll talk about Audubon’s Plants for Birds Native Plant database and have a conversation about the power of native plants to help grow a better world for birds. This is also a birding event! We will use both sight and sound to witness our avian neighbors around the nursery, observing their behavior as they either embark upon their migration journey or prepare for the changing of the seasons in Vermont. Horsford's is located in beautiful Charlotte, Vermont. Local gardeners have trusted us with growing for their landscapes since 1893.   The nursery is home to a full-service Garden Center that annually hosts educational events open to local communities.   Art in the Garden is a series of workshops hosted throughout our botanical gardens and led by local, independent artist instructors.
