ABOUT THE ARTIST Mondo Cortez and Jerry DeVivo are the Chicago Blues Angels Mondo Cortez is the founder of the CHICAGO BLUES ANGELS band. CBA has played American Roots Music, Rock n Roll, Blues, Rockabilly, and a whole lotta soul since 1999. He's shared the stage with such performers as Otis Rush, Junior Wells, Nick Curran, Kid Ramos, Kim Wilson, Lynwood Slim, Jimmie Vaughan, and Willie Smith. My influences were Johnny Guitar Watson, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, Freddie King, Earl Hooker, and Robert Lockwood. From Chicago to the East Coast, West Coast to the South of France, Jerry DeVivo's career as a professional musician has spanned nearly three decades. Raised on the sounds of Jazz, Blues, Motown, and classic Soul by his Mother and Father who loved music with a passion that combined created his. Jerry's professional career started to flourish when he joined up with some local musicians who called themselves The Mighty Blue Kings. Forging himself as an original member of MBK his 9-year stay with them featured Jerry on four of MBK's five full-length releases on drums and one on Tenor Sax and brought him to 49 states and a dozen countries performing aside such greats as Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, BB King, Lou Rawls, Pete Townshend, and John Mellencamp among others. At The Venue, we book nationally-recognized talent in all genres of music from blues and big band, to rock and world music, and everything in between. Frequently, our opening acts feature regional and local musicians and songwriters. Our listening room seats 200 with no obstructed views, and our outdoor stage area can fit several hundred festival fans. The Venue is operated by the Fox Valley Music Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to music education, promotion and preservation.
