The Alum Rock Park Rangers are hosting a FREE 60-minute guided hike along historical trails. NEW Requirements! Due to recent City requirements, volunteers are required to share their vaccination status or proof of a negative test to volunteer at City led volunteer events. On the day of the volunteer event please be ready to present to staff: Your vaccination card, picture of your vaccination card or your State of California QR code/digital card in-person AND government issued ID. Or A negative COVID-19 test result within 7 days of the volunteer event in which you are participating AND government issued ID. Test must include name, specimen collection date and result. **This requirement applies to volunteers who are currently eligible to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine.** If you prefer not to share your vaccination status or test results, we encourage you to delay your participation in volunteer events and return when you are comfortable in providing the required information or until guidelines change. Thank you for your understanding. Helpful Information: If you lost your physical vaccine card, please go to the website below to access your vaccination record digitally. Results take 1-3 days to return. You can set up a test appointment here: https://covid19.sccgov.org/covid-19-testing ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Alum Rock Park Rangers are hosting a FREE 60-minute guided hike along Penitencia Creek Trail. This low difficulty hike is approximately 1.5 mile and perfect for all ages and skill levels. Park rangers will educate hikers on the natural and cultural history of the park, wildlife, and seasonal flora and fauna along the deep box canyon. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable closed-toed walking or hiking shoes, and bring plenty of water and snacks. Please have a face mask available with you. This hike is not wheelchair accessible. The meeting location will be at the Log Cabin, which is near the visitor center at 9:50 a.m. every Sunday, starting August 22, 2021. Participants will park in the upper lot. Before the hike starts, you will be give a parking pass to display on your dash. Please register for this free event at least 24 hours in advance. Attendance is capped at 15 participants per event. No walk ins available.
