The Watermark at Trinity, an independent, assisted living and memory care community in Pasco County, has launched a new pricing structure that will streamline pricing and reduce costs for many individuals seeking care in a senior living environment. The program, Watermark Care, allows residents to pay for only the care that they need rather than a general tier of care. Traditionally, the costs associated with senior living are grouped into several tiers. Each resident is evaluated using a point system that determines how much care they need. The number of points is then used to determine which tier of care – and pricing – they fit into. In this tier model, just a few additional points could drive a resident's care plan into a higher separate cost tier. "This is a method that has been used in senior housing for quite some time and, consistent with our core principles, we believed it was time to innovate and improve," said David Barnes, president of Watermark Retirement Communities. "Our new Watermark Care program allows residents to pay for the care of their individual needs, rather than being grouped into a potentially more expensive tier based on point ranges." The Watermark Care program incorporates a personalized care approach. Each resident is evaluated based on the care that they need and services are provided ala carte. "We believe that this new structure will provide more equitable pricing for residents and families," said David Schupack, Executive Director of The Watermark at Trinity. "The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we believe that this new structure will allow us to care for more families who are looking for a community where their loved one will thrive." The Watermark at Trinity launched the new Watermark Care program earlier this year. Existing residents were provided with a personal review of their care plan as well as new pricing for monthly care.
