Press release from the City of Long Beach: August 26, 2021 As always, the City of Long Beach's primary concern is for the health, safety and security of our residents, visitors and workforce. With COVID cases on the rise, and as we look forward to the Fall, the following adjustments are being made to upcoming activities. October 2nd, Irish Day – The City has been in discussions with the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and has proposed moving forward with the parade to honor St. Brendan, but without the street fair that typically follows, as to reduce the potential exposure of our residents and visitors to COVID. The City awaits confirmation from the AOH. October 9th, Fall Festival – In lieu of the larger Fall Festival, the City will be moving forward with the COVID-safe and socially distanced costume parade and pumpkin patch for our community's children at the Recreation field. A we all know, we are living in uncertain times and the City is doing all it can to continue with our beloved traditions while being as responsible as possible. We urge all of you to try and limit large gatherings that could put both the public's and our workforce's health at risk. We will provide more information as it becomes available. Please stay safe!
