HUNTINGTON, NY — Flags were ordered to be flown at half-staff in Huntington Friday to honor the 13 American service members killed in a Thursday terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, according to a news release. Supervisor Chad Lupinacci made the call. "The Town of Huntington mourns the tragic loss of thirteen brave service members who entered the dangerous conditions unfolding in Afghanistan, putting their lives in harm's way to save their fellow Americans and Afghan friends to the cause of freedom, which is why our flag on Veterans Plaza flies at half-staff in their honor," Lupinacci said. Two suicide bombers detonated devices outside Abbey gate at Kabul's airport, killing 12 U.S. Marines and one Navy medic, along with dozens of Afghan civilians. The Islamic State terror group claimed responsibility for the bombings, NBC News reported.
