HARLEM, NY — The Uptown Night Market will again celebrate Harlem and all it has to offer with a celebration of the community's musical, cultural and culinary offerings under the iconic arches at an event next month. Masc Hospitality Group announced its lineup for its second Uptown Night Market Celebration of Harlem, which will take place starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 135th Street and 12th Avenue. The event debuted an August and organizers are planning even a bigger party the second time around. Culinary offerings will cover some of Harlem's most iconic eateries, including Uptownn, Fried Lasagna Mama, SmoKING of Meats, Treat Yourself Jerk, The Egg Roll Queen, Arnie and Ebony Catering, and C Bao. Dessert lovers also won't be disappointed as vendors including Princess of Pastries, Chictreatz, Cupcake Me!, Cuzin's Duzin, Sam's Fried Ice Cream and others will be on site. The musical lineup, curated in collaboration with Harlem Late Night Jazz, will open with the virtuous Saxo player Jonathan Saraga and his jazz band, followed by the Soul Power Band bringing the vintage soul, funk, and R&B. The spectacular night will be sealed by the talented DJ Stormin Norman. "In our August event, Harlem came through and showed us more love than we can imagine.'' Marco Shalma, founder of the market said in a news release. "The vibe was incredible, and we knew we would have to work harder to create an event even grander, filled with fantastic food, drink, entertainment, and giveaways." The event is created in partnership with West Harlem Development Corporation and sponsored by Gorillas, Truly Hard Seltzer, Green Mountain Energy, Twisted Tea, and Angry Orchard, organizers said.
