BROOKLINE, MA — The number of COVID-19 cases in Brookline is still on the rise, with 85 new cases reported over the last two weeks.
According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Brookline's 14-day percent positive test rate has increased slightly from 1.18% last week to 1.23% this week and the average daily incidence rate went from 8.3 to 9.4
In the rest of the state, hospitalizations have continued to rise while the positive test rate has declined. The statewide 14-day positive test rate decreased slightly from 2.91% to 2.83% and the case count for the last two weeks is 17,007.
Massachusetts health officials reported 1,793 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 702,370.
As of August 26, 60.7% of Brookline residents are fully vaccinated and 55.6% have received their first dose.
