L3Harris Flight Academy are hosting a Girls in Aviation Day to give girls aged between 8 and 17 an introduction to the world of aviation! L3Harris Flight Academy and the 99’s Daytona Chapter are excited to announce a Girls in Aviation Day on Saturday 25 September 2021. The day will be hosted at L3Harris’ Flight School at Sanford International Airport, Florida and will give girls aged between 8 and 17 an introduction to the world of aviation! About this event Women In Aviation International (WAI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating networks and mentoring opportunities to inspire the next generation of women and young girls to pursue fulfilling careers in aviation. At L3Harris we fully support this vision and are dedicated to increasing diversity on the flight deck, which is why we’re proud to team up with WAI to host the Girls In Aviation Day. During the day guests will have the opportunity to take a tour of the Flight School, speak with aviation professionals including Flight Instructors and maintenance personnel, take a ride in one of our flight simulators, sit inside our training aircraft and meet female pilots. There will also be time for break-out sessions designed to provide fun insights into the industry. It’s a great opportunity to discover what a career in aviation could offer you.
