Sneaker Sale Gone Wrong Results In Armed Robbery Charges: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested five people in connection with a sneaker sale gone wrong on Wednesday evening in Pentagon City, according to a police release. Officers responded around 4:11 p.m., for the report of an armed robbery in the 900 block of Army Navy Drive. A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects and victims had met for a prearranged sale of sneakers. During the exchange, the suspects pulled out a firearm, assaulted the victims and stole an undisclosed amount of money. They then left scene in a vehicle before police arrived. ACPD broadcast a lookout for the suspects vehicle, which was found traveling north on I-395 near Boundary Channel Drive. U.S. Park Police officers stopped the vehicle in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and 9th Street N.W., in Washington D.C. and took the five occupants into custody without incident. Police filed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery against each of the following individuals: Joseph Washington, 19, of Bryans Road, MarylandJalen Dyson, 19, of Henrico, Virginia Jordan Dyson, 19, of La Plata, MarylandMalik Hall, 20, of Woodbridge, VirginiaTaimar Smith, 20, of Washington, D.C. The five individuals are being held in the District pending extradition to Virginia.
