Description

DARIEN, CT — Darien Public Schools students will return to school buildings Monday as the 2021-22 academic year begins. In light of this, police are anticipating extensive traffic delays in the areas of each school in town as families drop off and pick up their children. In a news release, Police Capt. Jeremiah Marron Jr. said roads leading up to and around schools in town cannot accommodate the volume of vehicles arriving at these locations without significant backups. According to Marron, major traffic delays should be expected around Darien schools before and after opening and dismissal times for the foreseeable future. Drivers who are not dropping kids off at schools in town are strongly encouraged to avoid school areas and seek an alternate route during these time frames: SCHOOLOPENINGDISMISSALDHS7:40 a.m.2:17 p.m.MMS7:55 a.m.2:22 p.m.Hindley2:22 p.m.2:55 p.m.Holmes9 a.m.3:30 p.m.Ox Ridge9 a.m.3:30 p.m.Royle8:25 a.m.8:25 a.m.Tokenenke8:25 a.m.2:55 p.m.
