Exterior Carpenter Needed To Replace 2 Window Exterior Sill/Sub-Sill. Water damaged the wood sills at two exterior windows, and I need them removed and carefully replaced. Please let me know what you would charge for this 1st floor work at my home: Remove wood sash windows. Remove vinyl window jamb liners. Cut loose interior window stool nailed to deteriorated exterior sill. Cut loose exterior caulked joint around window trims. Remove exterior 1x6 wood window trim. Discard. Remove deteriorated wood window sill/sub sill. Carefully cut hidden fasteners to 1/2" wood siding section below and next to exterior sill. ( requires careful use of long blade sawsall to cut fasteners without damaging siding above.) Rip yellow pine 2x4 to create bevel for window framing below window. Install membrane flashing over vindow sill bevled 2x4 Install membrane flashing at sides and head of exposed window framing. Add Cor A Vent strip atop face of membrane under window sill. Install angled PVC Window sill Add square PVC Sill extension with stainless steel trim nails to extend and finish window sill. Add new 1x6 PVC flat window trim sides and head. Cut and install new siding piece below window, leaving full 1/4" open joint below window. Cut siding ends to leave 3/16" cauking gap at end. Prime paint cut siding edges before installation. Install vinyl window jamb liners Install wood sash windows. I provide the materials. You provide all tools and fasteners. Provide two recent references.
