Description
HYATTSVILLE, MD — Officials will help some residents apply to seal, or expunge, their criminal records this Saturday in Hyattsville. Legal professionals will be on site to evaluate records, discuss options and file expungement petitions.
"A criminal record can significantly impact your ability to obtain housing, public benefits, financial aid, occupational licenses, quality employment, citizenship and much more," the event listing said.
Attendees should bring their identification and court documents. Only Maryland arrests are eligible. Masks are required.
The expungement fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be at the First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville, located at 6201 Belcrest Road.
Registration is strongly encouraged. Interested locals can sign up at this link. Prince George's County State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy is sponsoring the event.
