Description
BALTIMORE, MD — All lanes were closed on Interstate 95 south at the Fort McHenry Tunnel Thursday night due to a tractor-trailer fire, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
The fire broke out around 5:40 p.m., officials said, shutting down both bores of the tunnel to traffic on southbound I-95.
After 6:30 p.m., authorities said one bore of the northbound section of the tunnel was also closed for cleanup. The northbound lanes had all reopened as of 6:45 p.m.
Drivers should take the Key Bridge/I-695 or the Harbor Tunnel/I-895 as alternate routes, officials advised.
