WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Goodbye, Phantom Fright Nights. Hello, Phantom Fall Fest.
Kennywood is retooling its traditional autumn events this year by debuting the fall fest, which will feature family-oriented activities during the day and spooky fright night adventures during the evening.
"For the first time ever, Kennywood will be open all day and well into the evening on Saturdays and Sundays in October, plus Friday evenings," Kennywood General Manager Mark Pauls said. "Phantom Fall Fest will be the perfect balance between new, fun experiences for families and Halloween frights at night."
The fall fest, which premieres Oct. 1, adds 15 operating days to the amusement park's 2021 season.
More attractions will be open for this year's fall event, with Kiddieland, Thomas Town and other family favorites open during the day. At 6 p.m. the park transitions into fright mode with five haunted houses and four scare zones including the new Manor Estate Sale and Hellbilly Hollow.
The fall fest also will feature new food and drink items such as turkey legs, pumpkin funnel cakes, seasonal beers and specialty cocktails. Potato Patch fries and other traditional dining options also will be available.
Phantom Fall Fest operates each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through October. The park will be open from 6 p.m.-11 p.m. on Fridays, 12 p.m.-11 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m.-10 p.m. on Sundays. The park's chaperone policy will be in effect all day on Fridays and begin at 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
