JOLIET, IL — A Will County grand jury on Thursday returned a criminal indictment against a Wilmington man and a Romeoville man who are accused of teaming up to steal money from the slot machines at the Saloon 2 in the 1800 block of Joliet's East Washington Street. The crime occurred on Aug. 7, according to court documents. Lucas Bailey, 39, and Seyed Zaidi, 40, have been charged with one count of burglary, two counts of possessing burglary tools, two counts of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer and two counts of criminal damage to property. Zaidi has been in custody since the night of the crimes, jail records show. Bailey has not been taken into custody yet. Bail has been set at $50,000 for both men, according to court records. According to the criminal complaint, Bailey and Zaidi damaged a door at the Saloon 2,and they damaged the slot machines belonging to Latter Entertainment. The complaint states that the Wilmington man and Romeoville resident possessed a prybar and a crowbar "for use in breaking into a building, Saloon 2 ... with intent to enter that place and with intent to commit ... a theft." The aggravated fleeing charge states that Bailey was driving a Nissan Rogue and that police officers tried to pull him over on Aug. 7 in Joliet on Midland Avenue, and he willfully fled or refused to obey the officer and "such flight ... to elude involved disobedience of two or more traffic control devices ... a red light at Midland Avenue and Jefferson Street and a stop sign at Midland Avenue and Glenwood Avenue."
