STILLWATER, MN — Roughly a dozen Stillwater households can expect to have their water shut off on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to allow a contractor to complete water system improvements. The shutoff will affect the properties on Sunrise Avenue between Parkwood Lane and Northland Avenue, the city of Stillwater said on Facebook. City officials will place door hangers on the affected properties to notify homeowners on Thursday. Water service will be restored once the work has been completed. Water may be discolored right after service is restored, but should clear up quickly after homeowners flush their system by running cold water, the city said. If it does not clear up, homeowners should contact the Utilities Department at (651) 275-4100 for assistance. "Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," the city said. "Any further questions or concerns may be directed to Robert Benson at (651) 430-8740." The city has been completing a series of system improvements that require shutoffs throughout August. It has previously temporarily shut water off on Hillside Lane between Croixwood Boulevard and Hidden Valley Lane, as well as Pine Street West between Oakes Street and Seeley Street South.
