Press release from the Downers Grove Park District: Fri August 27, 2021 updated aug. 27, 2021 Since the beginning of the pandemic, Downers Grove Park District has followed all state and county guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a government agency in Illinois, the Park District is required to follow the guidelines and mandates set by the State of Illinois and DuPage County. On Aug. 26, Governor Pritzker announced a statewide indoor mask mandate to mitigate the increased transmission of the Delta variant. Beginning Monday, Aug. 30, Downers Grove Park District will require ALL participants ages 2 and up to wear masks indoors at all times regardless of vaccination status. This includes fitness members, all program participants, visitors and staff. PHASE 5 BEGINS JUNE 11UIDELINES The Downers Grove Park District has followed all DCEO and IDPH guidelines under the Restore Illinois Plan since the start of the pandemic. Following Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan, capacity limits are now lifted. The Downers Grove Park District make the following adjustments effective Saturday, June 11. 4500 Fitness & Recreation Center · Open with full capacity. · Hours: Monday to Friday 5AM – 8:30PM, Saturday and Sunday 7AM to 6PM · Reservations are NO LONGER REQUIRED for the Fitness Center, Indoor Walking Track or Group Exercise Classes. · Steam rooms will remain closed until further notice. · The fitness equipment will be cleaned and sanitized at 11am, 3pm and 8pm during regular open hours. · Open Gym will continue to require advance reservations. Register online View the Phase 5 Guidelines FACE COVERINGS In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Office of the Governor on June 4, face coverings and social distancing are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals. The Downers Grove Park District recommends that face coverings be worn indoors AND outdoors for ALL program participants who are not fully vaccinated unless specifically mandated by the State of Illinois for specific activities.
