Press release from Savannah-Chatham County Public School System: 8/26/2021 On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the new ESPLOST-funded auditorium at Alfred Ely Beach High School. Numerous Beach High alumni joined SCCPSS staff and representatives of the teams responsible for designing and building the auditorium at the ceremony. The facility is named the Richard R. Mole, Sr. Auditorium in honor of the school's former principal. Richard Russel Mole, Sr. influenced a generation of students as a teacher and coach, then principal of Beach. The auditorium is a state of the art facility seating an audience of 600. It offers students and the surrounding community a raised stage, scene shop, and dressing rooms, as well as sound and lighting systems for theater productions, concerts, and performances of all kinds. The stage is equipped with LED lighting to save energy and provide an optimal setting for presentations of all kinds. See more photos from the event here.
