Anchorage Animal Care & Control is looking to add a new Animal Control Officer to the team! If you have an interest in working with and helping animals, as well as provide a service to the community, this could be the opportunity for you! Animal Control Officers are responsible for capturing and impounding stray or dangerous animals, rescuing trapped animals, investigating cases of animal cruelty, enforcing licensing laws, providing expert testimony in court cases, preparing incident reports, and providing humane care to animals under their supervision. We are looking for those who can meet the following criteria: - High school diploma or equivalent - Minimum of six months of code, law enforcement, or security experience to include carrying out law(s) through investigations, interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, writing citations and reports - Valid driver's license - Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English - Legally authorized to work in the United States - Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check (including driving record), drug test, and physical/fit for duty exam This full time position offers medical, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as 401k matching and paid time off!
