DCH Logs 163 Coronavirus Inpatients To End Turbulent Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL — DCH Health System reported 163 total coronavirus positive inpatients to end the week on Friday, marking the highest number for the hospital system since Jan. 25. On Friday alone, DCH added 21 new hospitalizations. That number is up slightly from yesterday, as Patch previously reported, when numbers showed more patients on ventilators this week than any other time during the pandemic. It is unclear how many of these are Tuscaloosa County residents. In a spot of positive news, DCH said it surpassed 70,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine administered on Aug. 25.
