Having a Rooster can be great for a flock!!...
Free to good home, I have 3 roosters that are 10-12 weeks old (I learned are called “cockerels” since they’re under a year old). They have some really neat coloring and are friendly but sometimes still a bit skiddish.
I realize it can be a common practice where people perform chick culling when they get roosters, but PLEASE do not contact me and try to take them for meat or culling or if you already have a rooster.
They are from a very friendly “mother hen and father rooster” and I’m hoping someone would like to add a rooster to their flock of hens.
My chickens are a large breed. They were given to me and I’m not certain of their breed. After a lot of internet research I believe they’re a mixed breed between either a Brahma or Cochin and possibly a Wyandotte?? I’m no chicken expert but my birds have the feathers on their legs and feet with small waddles/combs making them great winter hardy chickens. I’m including pictures of the “parents” to show how beautiful they are.
Backstory....
...So I let my chickens hatch their own chicks this summer since I love my rooster and had a hen get broody. After patiently waiting, 4 eggs hatched and I can finally tell with about 80-90% certainty from research, watching their behavior, and studying their physical attributes that 1 is a hen (pullet) and 3 are roosters (cockerels). I cannot keep the roosters because I already have a wonderful “leader of my flock” and don’t want any rooster fighting for that top position.
