Description

Ocean Charter School, a Public Waldorf Charter School located in Del Rey is looking for a local and experienced Maintenance Coordinator to maintain a clean and operable campus, including classrooms, offices, specialty buildings, and grounds. The Maintenance Coordinator maintains the TK-8 two-acre campus by providing general maintenance, repairs, janitorial work, campus security, interfacing with service vendors, and responding during odd hours to alarms if needed to meet law enforcement. The Maintenance Coordinator performs the following duties including but not limited to: opening and closing facilities, unlocking and locking doors, gates, classrooms, offices, gym, etc., maintains campus safety and clean, sanitary grounds. Assists in providing security for buildings and grounds, contacts proper authority for assistance as needed, and may escort authorized and unauthorized persons in and from buildings and grounds. Has the ability to recognize general grounds and maintenance needs and make minor repairs to materials, fixtures, and equipment and is the point person to interface and communicate with service vendors. Performs a variety of unscheduled custodial duties as requested by the Campus Coordinator and Executive Directors. Minimum Requirements and Professional Qualifications: • Maintenance or handyman experience • Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds including, heavy supplies, machinery, boxes, and equipment • Stamina to stand and walk for long periods of time • Maintenance of acceptable standards of physical health, energy, and emotional adjustment to the school environment • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills (can work independently) • Professional appearance, grooming, maturity, and adherence to OCS dress code
