Talk me in or out of moving

Long story short, getting divorced in the F-this State and some friends from IA pitched me the idea of moving there. I don't care for those I know in Texas anymore and there certainly ain't shit in Florida, except my kids. I hate this F'n heat and want to go back to the cold. (Originally from Mass.) There are friends and acquaintances in IA, so it's not a blind move. But tell me if I should or shouldn't. Don't hold back. I want to know everything from different perspectives.
