Aviation Education Day at South Bend International Airport

South Bend International Airport (SBN) will host its 3rd annual Aviation Education Day on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The family-friendly, free event will be held on the airfield at the Studebaker Hangar west of the main terminal. All ages are encouraged to enjoy aircraft displays, airfield tours, airport equipment showcases, interactive presentations, and a career fair. Area Boy Scouts of America have an opportunity to earn an aviation merit badge for attending and completing all requirements. Attendees should follow the signs on Lincoln Way West to free parking. Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. for check-in for aviation merit badge participants with programming beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. Aviation-related games and face painting will be part of the fun. Sweazy Q Catering will be on-site with their food truck offering mouth-watering barbecue and light breakfast offerings for hungry attendees.
