GREATER BOSTON ASSOCIATION OF BLACK SOCIAL WORKERS was organized in 1968 – as one of the founding chapters of the National Association of Black Social Workers, Inc. (NABSW). As a local affiliate of the NABSW, we advocate for social change, justice and human development of African people in the United States and throughout the world. Greater Boston ABSW is comprised of social work students, young professionals and seasoned practitioners of African ancestry who continue the struggle for justice and freedom. In addition to persistently pursuing the elevation of Black people, Greater Boston ABSW provides intensive training through a variety of workshops, seminars, and conferences. By sharing knowledge, we improve services to those we aid. We aim to promote our community’s welfare, survival, and liberation as well as advocate for social change at all levels of government.
