Description
The Warehouse Associate / Material Handlerl position coordinates the receiving, shipping, and material handling responsibilities in the warehouse by designing and developing product movement and storage systems, improving operations, and partnering closely with office team on inventory control. Responsibilities include cost and time efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit. Major Tasks, Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities: Ensures smooth delivery of product for the sales organization. Prepares product for outgoing shipments. Maintain a clean and well-organized warehouse and web order packing areas. Vacuum, clean, sweep floors, and empty all trash each day if required. Act as a backup for other packing/shipping facilitators during their absence (as needed). Monitors inventory levels by conducting physical counts. Communicate inventory concerns to management on a regular basis. Maintain all processes and records involved in shipping/receiving. Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues. Troubleshoots all receiving and shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence Administer policies and procedures. Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations Recommends warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems, evaluating and recommending new equipment. Recommends warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements. Recommends processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes (check in/out), and shipping. Recommends and implements warehouse operations system improvements by leading continuous improvement projects as assigned and by analyzing process workflow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout. Achieves operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans Reviews and prepares any action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met Be proactive in Loss Prevention by keeping the warehouse well organized and maintaining proper procedures. Exercises sound judgment and follows all safety guidelines. Experience You Bring 3+ year of warehouse experience preferred, but not required. Fundamental computer and RF scanner skills Excellent problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Basic Math skills. Physical Requirements Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Continually able to lift and move boxes and product within a restricted space. Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel. Continually able to walk up and down staircase, carrying boxes, product, and other necessary store related items. Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean. Ability to safely lift boxes up to 55 lbs. Comfortable climbing ladders. Qualifications/Requirements A minimum of 3 years of operations/logistics or supply chain experience preferred Strong knowledge of inventory management systems Forklift certification preferred Ability to give and receive constructive feedback Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment Accuracy and attention to detail Self-motivated
